Pyramids in Romania are fascinating and mysterious.

Since ancient times, numerous natural or artificial pyramids have been known on the territory of Romania made by shaping a rock or mountain peak, but also from the ground. The purposes were diverse: energy resonators, solar calendars, burial tombs, initiation centers, etc.

The most famous and spectacular is the one in the Ceahlau Mountains, which is seen by many tourists on August 6 every year. In 1998, it was discovered by the geologist Ticleanu on the 1900 m high Toaca peak. The base has a side of 296 m, the total height being 107 m. The angle of the slope on the North side of the peak is 52 degrees like the Pyramid in Egypt.

Another natural pyramid, the Pyramid of the Sun, is the one in the Bucegi Mountains that is observed every year on November 28 at sunset.

On the territory of Romania, there are 5 more Pyramids from ancient times in the Retezat, Parang, Fagras, Apuseni Mountains and at the Tismana Monastery.

Those earth pyramids are the Mounds of Sona in Fagaras, the earth pyramids of Satu Mare, the pyramids of Bradeni-Sibiu, the pyramids of the Buzaului Mountains.
